Things to sew for the 4th of July

Are you like me and feeling like school is almost done and it’ll be 4th of July before we know it?

I’ve rounded up some super fun sewing ideas to get you and your home ready for the 4th!

This adorable block, “I Heart America” was created by Cristina Tepsick from Pretty Little Quilts. It could be made into a pillow or you could sew many into a quilt. Here’s the link to the free PDF she created:

If you like quilted throw pillows, you’ve got to see from Carrie Wilson on the site. She did a set in red and navy but then also in pink and a chambray blue. Both sets are just darling and free instructions are included for all here:

Here’s a quilt that I’ve been wanting to make for my home for a while. It’s called “Patriotic” by Allison from Cluck, Cluck, Sew. Read more about it here:

I love how you can use red, white and blue and use just about any cute pattern to feel patriotic. Take a look at this perfect example. Amber from Gigi’s Thimble made this awesome “Star Spangled Pineapple’s” Quilt. It’s so happy, I love it!

Amy Smart from Diary of a Quilter offers this adorable “Flying Flags Quilt” with a tutorial about how to put the blocks together, this one’s on my make list too.

Fat Quarter Shop offers a great free pattern for this “Wave Your Flag” Table runner if you’re looking for a quicker project.

This “Patriotic Wreath” by Angie Holden of The Country Chic Cottage caught my eye. Isn’t it cute! See her 15 minute tutorial here:

Need a patriotic svg file? Here’s a round up of some really cute ones! They’re perfect for tshirts or tote bags!
